Why do I have to select a raw material when creating a component? What are the raw materials for?

A raw material is the unprocessed origin material of the component. For example, when you want to map your component chain for the ‘dried tomato flakes’ that are an ingredient of your final product, then the respective raw material is the 'tomato’. This allows for our system to create clusters and reusable chains both for your supply chain management as well as in the display towards your customers and possibly consumers. It helps to trace and filter your ingredients per raw material and it is becoming increasingly important with more ingredients.
